Rutland Water is one of the largest man-made stretches of water in Europe, as big as Windermere and set in some of Britain's loveliest countryside. It's a perfect location to wrap up the Official Vago circuit for 2008 and all the excuse most of us need to get on the water with other Vago's as well as the combined fleets of the other Laser asymmetric classes! If you're new to Open Meetings or racing, don't be put off the number of boats who'll be on the water with you... we have different start times so it's not too crowded and we're all just a big happy family, charging around with kites up and passing jelly babies around between races. Everyones very helpful both on and off the water with advice, help and generally making you feel welcome. That's not just the Vago's, the other classes are just the same, with a cross section of sailors from party animals to relaxed families. Above all it's a spectacle. Being on the water with a fleet of Vago's is great, add to that the massive Laser 2000 fleet, the awe inspiring twin trapeze Laser 5000's and the antics of the Laser 4000's and you're in for a treat :) |
