Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May 2008.

Carsington Sailing Club in the Derbyshire Dales hosted the first Laser Vago Open of 2008.

It proved to be a close affair with both single and double handed options competing together in shifting F2 to F3 conditions.
Race one saw Paul and Julia Kettle taking and holding an early lead to keep the single handers of Dave Baxter and Paul Welsh in 2nd and 3rd. The top positions then reversed in race 2 with Dave Baxter just pipping Paul and Julia Kettle on the line and in race 3, Paul Welsh moved up to 2nd behind Dave Baxter.

Sunday brought slightly stronger winds and catching the right windshifts proved to be the priority.
Ed Deacon took advantage of the conditions to take a second behind Dave Baxter in race 4 and went on to win the final race from Paul and Julia Kettle in 2nd.
There were many position changes in all 5 races and a few capsizes from the single handers, mainly due to a single windshift and gust in race 5 :)
